MANILA — Philippine Airlines (PAL) officially postponed the resumption of PAL Dubai and Doha flights for another month. Consequently, the airline cancelled these routes until May 31, 2026. This decision extends the previous April 30 deadline due to deteriorating security in the region.
The flag carrier announced this update in Advisory #19. Specifically, PAL cited potential risks to infrastructure and airspace safety. Moreover, ground conditions remain unpredictable. These factors include limited airspace corridors and sudden closures.
Affected Routes and Flight Numbers
Three specific routes are impacted by the suspension of PAL Dubai and Doha flights:
- PR 658/659: Manila-Dubai-Manila
- PR 684/685: Manila-Doha-Manila
- PR 685 (Doha-Manila): Additional cancellation on June 1, 2026.
However, PAL’s service to Riyadh (PR 654/655) faces a shorter suspension. Currently, those flights are only cancelled until April 9. The airline continues to evaluate operational conditions for that route carefully.
Options for Affected Passengers
If the suspension affects your PAL Dubai and Doha flights, you have three choices:
- Rebook for Free: You can move to the next available flight in the same cabin class.
- Get Travel Credits: Convert your ticket into credits with a 20% bonus.
- Request a Refund: PAL offers full refunds without penalties.
Because request volumes are high, processing takes about eight days. Additionally, bank posting may take two to four weeks. If you used a travel agent, please contact them directly.
Safety Remains the Priority
PAL reiterated that passenger safety is the top priority. While some carriers may resume service, PAL will wait until the situation stabilizes. The airline will notify affected passengers directly via email or SMS. Therefore, travelers should monitor their messages for further updates.
