SEN. Christopher “Bong” Go and Malabon Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, along with other local officials, recently gathered to break ground for the city’s 5th Super Health Center in Barangay Hulong Duhat. This initiative aims to provide comprehensive outpatient medical and dental care to the residents of Malabon.
Mayor Sandoval expressed her gratitude to Senator Go for his unwavering support towards the country’s healthcare program and for championing the establishment of another super health center in their city. She emphasized that Senator Go’s initiative to make healthcare available for free through the Department of Health is a groundbreaking effort that has never been seen before.
The super health center is a significant step towards addressing the healthcare needs of the community. It will offer a range of essential services, including basic laboratory examinations, basic emergency services, minor surgeries, as well as ambulance and pharmacy services. Additionally, plans for a smoking cessation clinic have been proposed, demonstrating the center’s commitment to promoting overall wellness.
Dr. Bernadette Bordador, officer in charge of the city’s Health and Sanitation Department, highlighted the importance of the super health center in bridging the gap in healthcare accessibility. She noted that many poor families in Malabon have been deprived of proper healthcare due to the high cost of medical services. Dr. Bordador shared her concerns about families who have had to delay seeking medical attention simply because they couldn’t afford it.
“Under Mayor Jeannie’s administration, this kind of situation is deemed unacceptable. We are excited to witness the positive impact that our Hulong Duhat Super Health Center will bring to the lives of our constituents,” said Dr. Bordador.
The strategic location of the super health center in Barangay Hulong Duhat allows it to cater to a cluster of regular health centers in the city. This includes the health centers in the villages of Dampalit, Muzon, Flores, Bayan-Bayanan, Baritan, Concepcion, and the Hulong Duhat regular health center. By establishing this new facility, the city government aims to ensure that residents do not have to choose between healthcare and basic necessities.
Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, and the Malabon City government, under the leadership of Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, is committed to making this right a reality for all its residents. The 5th Super Health Center is a testament to their dedication towards improving the overall well-being of the community.
As the project progresses, the city government will continue to work closely with Senator Go and other stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of this vital healthcare initiative. With the establishment of the super health center, the people of Malabon can look forward to a future where healthcare is accessible and affordable for all.
