A recent comprehensive operation in Kuwait’s Al-Rai Al-Herfiyya area has resulted in the issuance of 120 citations and the impounding of several vehicles. The operation was conducted by a Committee comprising personnel from five different entities, including the General Traffic Department, the General Administration of Residency Investigations, the Ministry of Commerce, the Public Authority for Industry, the Ministry of Electricity and Water, Kuwait Municipality, and the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition.
The aim of the operation was to crack down on non-compliant workshops in industrial zones, targeting plots, garages, and industrial workshops. Major Abdullah Bu Hassan, an officer from the Public Relations and Media Department of the General Traffic Department, explained that the operation was carried out under the guidance of Major General Abdullah Al-Rajaib, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Traffic and Operations Affairs.
Brigadier General Muhammad Al-Adwani, Assistant Director of the General Traffic Department for Technical Affairs, and Brigadier Ashraf Al-Amir provided field supervision for the operation. Their collaboration ensured a coordinated effort to enforce laws and regulations related to traffic, residency, commerce, industry, electricity, water, and food safety.
During the operation, inspectors from the Technical Inspection Department impounded a vehicle involved in a reported theft case, as well as another vehicle and a motorcycle for emitting disruptive exhaust sounds. In addition, five expatriates were taken into custody for violating residence laws. The operation also resulted in the issuance of 120 various traffic violations.
Inspectors from different departments played a crucial role in identifying and reporting violations. The Technical Inspection Department impounded three vehicles and a motorcycle, while industry inspectors issued 22 violation arrest reports and three violations related to workers’ housing. Commerce inspectors issued 72 violation reports for garages, workshops, and technicians.
Electricity inspectors placed three summons posters on a workshop and a garage, highlighting violations related to electrical safety. The collaboration between the various entities involved in the operation ensured a comprehensive approach to addressing non-compliance in the industrial zone.
Major Abdullah Bu Hassan emphasized the importance of such operations in maintaining safety and order on Kuwait’s roads. He stated that the General Traffic Department, along with its partner entities, remains committed to enforcing traffic laws and regulations to ensure the well-being of residents and visitors alike.
