The Ministry of Education’s Educational Facilities and Planning Sector is taking proactive measures to address any issues that may arise during the rainy season. In anticipation of potential emergencies, the Engineering Affairs Departments in all educational regions have established hotlines to handle rain-related complaints received from schools.
An engineering source, speaking to Al-Rai, confirmed that the Engineering Affairs Departments have been carrying out their annual preparations since the beginning of last October. These preparations include overseeing the cleaning of school roofs, rainwater pipes, and drainage networks. The departments also ensure that there are no malfunctions in any of these systems. Additionally, they issue bulletins to the relevant departments to keep them informed.
Furthermore, the source revealed that school administrations have their own established procedures for dealing with rain. They have trained rapid intervention teams in place to handle any emergency situations that may arise. The coordination between the public education sector, the educational facilities sector, and the educational district administrations is tripartite. This collaboration aims to effectively address weather fluctuations and exceptional weather conditions.
