Statistics from the Ministry of Justice’s Enforcement Department’s Travel Ban Section have revealed insights into restrection trends impacting both citizens and expatriates during January and February this year, as per the Al-Qabas daily. About 16,000 travel bans were enforced in Kuwait, alongside 8,033 orders to revoke bans, and 917 requests for one-time travel. January saw 6,642 travel ban orders, which rose to 9,006 in February.

Likewise, there were 6,642 lift orders in January and 3,811 in February. Al-Ahmadi Governorate had the highest number with 4,321 orders, followed by Farwaniya with 3,641 and Hawalli with 2,452. Al-Jahra and the capital recorded 2,381 and 1,757 ban orders respectively, while Mubarak Al-Kabeer had the least with 1,096. The Family Court conducted 1,211 ban procedures, split between 620 in January and 591 in February, along with issuing 380 ban lift orders, including 220 in January and 160 in February.

Additionally, there were 27,809 ban orders for rentals, with 14,420 in January and 13,389 in February. The Family Court also handled 907 vehicle seizure procedures, comprising 474 in January and 433 in February. According to a source, common reasons for travel bans include outstanding checks, bank debts, unpaid phone bills, installment payments, overdue rents, electricity bills, as well as expenses and family court cases.
