The Kuwait Municipality is considering a proposal to introduce a new service that aims to address the challenges associated with the removal of bulk residential waste. Eng. Alia Al-Farsi, the head of a committee within the municipality, has submitted the proposal to the executive body.

Residential waste in large quantities and sizes, such as used furniture, tables, chairs, beds, toys, and household appliances, often presents difficulties in terms of disposal. These items can be challenging to handle due to their size, quantity, or hazardous nature. Currently, there is a lack of a proper mechanism to regulate the removal and disposal of such waste, resulting in a disorderly process that affects the overall appearance of the area and causes visual pollution.

To address this issue, Al-Farsi has suggested the creation of a special application that would enable residents to electronically register and request the collection of bulky waste. The proposed application would require users to provide their personal information, including their name, civil number, mobile phone number, and location. Additionally, users would be able to upload pictures of the waste to facilitate better assessment and understanding of the items. Once submitted, the municipality would initiate the process of collecting the waste from designated collection points.

In addition to the registration and collection process, the application would also include a chat feature that allows residents to communicate with the relevant hygiene officials in their area. This feature would enable residents to address any concerns or queries they may have, ensuring a smooth and efficient waste removal process.

The introduction of this bulk residential waste removal service would bring significant benefits to the community. Firstly, it would provide a streamlined and organized approach to the disposal of large and cumbersome items that are challenging to handle. By implementing a proper mechanism for waste removal, the municipality aims to improve the overall appearance of the area and reduce visual pollution caused by disorderly waste disposal.

Moreover, the proposed application would offer convenience and accessibility to residents. By allowing them to register and request waste collection electronically, it eliminates the need for physical visits or phone calls to the municipality. This digital solution simplifies the process and saves time for both residents and municipal officials.

For Filipino Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Kuwait and their families, this service would be particularly beneficial. OFWs often face unique challenges when it comes to managing waste disposal, especially bulky items. The proposed application would provide them with a user-friendly platform to register and request the collection of such waste, ensuring a hassle-free process.

It is important for the Kuwait Municipality to address the issue of bulk residential waste in order to maintain a clean and visually appealing environment for residents and visitors alike. By implementing a specialized application and streamlining the waste removal process, the municipality demonstrates its commitment to effective waste management and environmental sustainability.
