MANILA, Philippines — Operations of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) were briefly halted on Tuesday after a female passenger jumped onto the tracks at the Doroteo Jose Station in Manila.
The LRT-1, in a post on X (formerly Twitter), said the incident happened at 12:41 p.m.
“A female passenger jumped onto the tracks of LRT-1 while a train was approaching Doroteo Jose Station (southbound),” it said.
A team from the line’s operator, the Light Rail Manila Corporation, responded immediately to help the passenger, who sustained minor injuries.
“Per initial assessment, the passenger was conscious and sustained minor injury, and was immediately brought to the hospital and turned over to the proper authorities,” it added.
Regular operations resumed at 12:59 p.m.
