Philippines Grants Visa-Free Entry to Indian Tourists Starting June 8

Exciting news for Indian travelers! The Philippines is rolling out a more accessible travel policy, allowing Indian passport holders to enter the country visa-free starting June 8, 2024.

This move by the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is part of an initiative to boost tourism and strengthen ties between the two nations. India is currently ranked 13th among the Philippines’ top tourism markets, with nearly 80,000 Indian arrivals in 2024 alone.

Two Visa-Free Entry Options for Indian Tourists

Option 1: 14-Day Visa-Free Entry

Indian nationals can now visit the Philippines without a visa for up to 14 days, provided they meet the following requirements:

  • A passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended stay
  • Confirmed hotel/accommodation booking
  • Proof of financial capacity
  • A return or onward ticket
  • No derogatory record with Philippine immigration

Note: This option is non-extendible and non-convertible.

Option 2: 30-Day Visa-Free Entry for AJACSSUK Visa Holders

If you’re an Indian citizen who holds a valid visa or residence permit from any of the following countries:

  • Australia
  • Japan
  • America (U.S.)
  • Canada
  • Schengen Area
  • Singapore
  • United Kingdom

You are eligible for visa-free entry for up to 30 days in the Philippines, also for tourism purposes only.

The same requirements as the 14-day entry apply:

  • Valid passport (6+ months)
  • Hotel booking
  • Proof of funds
  • Return or onward flight
  • Clean immigration record

Why It Matters: Strengthening Tourism and Connectivity

The new visa-free entry policy is expected to significantly boost inbound tourism from India, a growing travel market in Asia. According to the Department of Tourism (DOT), Indian arrivals rose by 12% in 2024 — and this number is projected to increase with more accessible travel policies in place.

With its tropical charm, vibrant culture, and adventure-ready islands, the Philippines is positioning itself as a top destination for Indian tourists.
