The city government of Manila has started distributing Christmas gift boxes to 695,000 households and 175,000 senior citizens in the city. Financial assistance is also being provided to senior citizens, solo parents, and persons with disabilities. In addition to the gift distribution, a Grand Bazaar will be held at the Mehan Garden from December 11 to January 1. The Manila Police will deploy officers to ensure safety and security during dawn masses, with a significant number of personnel assigned to major streets, transportation hubs, commercial areas, and other crowded places. To accommodate the influx of tourists, the city government will designate additional parking spaces in areas such as Divisoria, Quiapo, Rizal Ave., Blumentritt, Tutuban, and Recto. Public address systems have also been installed in Quiapo, Divisoria, and Blumentritt for easy reporting of any untoward incidents.
