Jazeera Airways, the leading low-cost carrier in Kuwait, has been honored with the ICT Leadership Award at the prestigious CXO Insight Middle East event in 2023. The ICT Leadership Awards recognize companies and individuals in the Middle East who have demonstrated innovative ICT practices that drive business agility and foster innovation. Curated by the editors of CXO Insight Middle East, these awards celebrate technology leaders from various industries and acknowledge the tech providers behind their transformative projects.

In the aviation sector, Jazeera Airways was specifically recognized for its Ground Operations Control System. This system provides a centralized platform for real-time data input and management of crucial flight parameters. It seamlessly integrates with multiple airline and airport operations systems, including flight and crew management, fuel providers, ground handling service providers, and cargo service providers.

Rohit Ramachandran, the Chief Executive Officer of Jazeera Airways, expressed his delight at the recognition received from CXO Insight Middle East. He highlighted the airline’s ongoing efforts in driving digital transformation across their business. Through the implementation of the Ground Operations Control System, Jazeera Airways introduced multiple dashboards that offer different departments a common platform to make quick decisions based on real-time information from across the network. This system not only ensures accurate information but also utilizes data analytics to improve on-time performance by five minutes. Additionally, the airline achieved a cost saving of 8% to 10% through the auto reconciliation of invoices from different service providers. Notably, all of these advancements were developed in-house by Jazeera Airways’ IT team, in collaboration with other operational departments.

Moreover, Jazeera Airways has undertaken several other digital transformation initiatives in recent years. These include business process automation, contactless operations, AI-powered chatbots for customer service, personalization with big data and AI, optimization of flight paths for fuel efficiency, digital platforms to offset carbon emissions, and the use of Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs). EFBs are mobile devices, such as tablets or smartphones, that pilots can utilize to access flight information and manuals.

With a network of 64 destinations across the Middle East, Central and South Asia, Africa, and Europe, Jazeera Airways operates a fleet of 22 aircraft, transporting over 4 million passengers annually. The airline also owns and operates its own airport terminal, Jazeera Terminal 5, in Kuwait. This terminal not only offers convenience and connectivity but also caters to the needs of business, leisure, religious, and weekend travelers.

Jazeera Airways’ recognition at the ICT Leadership Awards showcases their commitment to technological innovation in the aviation industry. By embracing digital transformation and leveraging advanced technologies, Jazeera Airways continues to enhance their operations and deliver an exceptional travel experience to their passengers.
