DepEd Ranked as Most Trusted Government Agency – OCTA Survey

The Department of Education (DepEd) has emerged as the most trusted and best-performing government agency, according to a recent survey conducted by OCTA Research.

In the Third Quarter Tugon ng Masa survey, which took place from September 30 to October 4, the DepEd received an impressive 79 percent trust rating. It was closely followed by the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) at 75 percent, the Department of Health (DoH) at 74 percent, and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at 73 percent.

When examining the trust ratings by region, the DepEd received its highest rating in the Visayas and Mindanao, with a remarkable 88 percent. Its lowest rating was in Balanced Luzon, where it still garnered a respectable 70 percent.

Furthermore, the DepEd achieved the highest trust ratings among socio-economic classes D and E, with 80 percent and 78 percent, respectively. The lowest trust rating was among Class ABC, at 69 percent.

In terms of performance, the DepEd topped the list of best-performing government agencies with an impressive 80 percent rating. It was closely followed by the DSWD at 75 percent, and the DPWH and DoH at 74 percent. The CHEd rounded out the top five with a 73 percent rating.

The performance ratings of the Education department varied across the country, ranging from 72 percent to 91 percent. The highest performance rating was recorded in the Visayas region at 91 percent, followed by Mindanao at 88 percent, and Balanced Luzon at 72 percent.

However, it is worth noting that the Department of Budget and Management received the lowest performance rating at a mere 32 percent.

The survey, which had a total of 1,200 respondents nationwide, carried a margin of error of plus or minus three percent nationwide and six percent across major regions.

These results highlight the trust and confidence that the Filipino people have in the Department of Education. The DepEd’s commitment to providing quality education and its efforts to continuously improve the education system have clearly resonated with the public.
