The Vice President and Education Secretary, Sara Duterte, has announced that the Matatag Basic Education Curriculum is fully prepared for implementation in the upcoming school year of 2024-2025. In her statement, Duterte highlighted the collaboration between the curriculum and teaching strand and the National Educators Academy of the Philippines. The Department of Education has been actively preparing instructors who will provide support to regional and division trainers for teachers in kindergarten and Grades 1, 4, and 7. Expressing her gratitude, Duterte promised to visit all 35 schools participating in the pilot implementation of the Matatag curriculum. She acknowledged the challenges faced by the teachers in these pilot schools, being the first to embrace and teach the curriculum. The pilot implementation of the Matatag Curriculum will involve 35 schools from various regions in the Philippines, including Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Visayas, Soccsksargen, National Capital, Cordillera, and Caraga. A total of 385 teachers and 8,300 students will participate in this initial phase.
