Over 70K Pass Teachers’ Licensure Exam; UST Top Performing School

MANILA, Philippines: The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has released the results of the September 2023 licensure exam for teachers in the elementary and secondary levels. Out of the 146,562 aspiring teachers who took the exam, 77,777 successfully passed.

In the elementary level, a total of 50,593 examinees participated in the Professional Teachers Licensure Exam. Of these, 23,782, or 47.01 percent, passed the exam. Meanwhile, in the secondary level, 95,969 individuals took the exam, with 53,995, or 56.26 percent, passing.

Among the successful examinees, Trilbe Lizann Espina Vasquez from the University of the Philippines-Cebu secured the top spot in the secondary level, achieving an impressive rating of 94.80 percent. In the elementary level, Dulce Angeline Hernandez Arellano and Chelsea Lipana Tiaga, both from the University of Sto. Tomas (UST), topped the list of examinees with a rating of 94.40 percent.

It is worth noting that UST emerged as the top performing school for both the elementary and secondary levels. The school achieved a 100 percent passing rate in the elementary level and a 98.56 percent passing rate in the secondary level.

In addition to the top performers, there were also several examinees who tied for the top 10 spots in both the secondary and elementary levels. Around 39 examinees were tied in the secondary level, while 56 examinees shared the top 10 positions in the elementary level.
