A recent survey report from the independent research group Capstone-Intel has shed light on the public’s satisfaction with the overall performance of the Department of Health (DoH) in the Philippines. The survey, conducted from August 1 to 10, 2023, included 1,205 Filipino participants aged between 18 and 75 from different regions of the country.

According to the report, 60 percent of the respondents expressed satisfaction with the DoH’s overall performance. This positive feedback indicates a significant level of trust and confidence in the department’s ability to fulfill its responsibilities. However, it is important to note that 27 percent of the respondents neither expressed satisfaction nor dissatisfaction, while 13 percent were generally dissatisfied with the DoH’s performance.

One aspect that received positive feedback was the accessibility and affordability of health care services provided by the DoH. The survey revealed that 38 percent of the participants were satisfied with these aspects. However, it is worth noting that 31 percent of the respondents neither expressed satisfaction nor dissatisfaction, indicating that there may be conflicting values or factors influencing their neutrality towards the accessibility and affordability of health care services.

Capstone-Intel, the research group behind the survey, aimed to measure public satisfaction with the DoH across various areas, including transparency, timeliness, access to health care services, and communication. By gathering comprehensive inputs from the survey participants, the report provides valuable insights into the public’s perception of the department’s performance.

The survey also explored the respondents’ familiarity with the DoH’s programs and services. The National Immunization Program was the most well-known, with 65 percent of the participants indicating familiarity. This was followed by the Family Health Program at 59 percent and the National HIV/AIDS Program at 50 percent. These findings highlight the importance of raising awareness and promoting the various initiatives undertaken by the DoH.

It is worth mentioning that this is not the first time the DoH has received positive feedback from the Filipino public. In a previous survey conducted by Capstone-Intel in 2023, the department also garnered a “good” performance rating. This consistency in public satisfaction reflects the department’s commitment to addressing the health needs of the Filipino population.

Capstone-Intel, the research company behind the survey, is known for its innovative research technologies, tools, and methods. The group specializes in converting data and information into breakthrough insights. With a focus on health, transportation, and food security, Capstone-Intel collaborates with various government agencies, including the DoH and the Department of Transportation, to conduct studies and provide valuable research findings.

In conclusion, the recent survey conducted by Capstone-Intel has provided valuable insights into the public’s satisfaction with the Department of Health’s performance in the Philippines. The positive feedback indicates a significant level of trust and confidence in the department’s ability to provide accessible and affordable health care services. However, it is essential to address the concerns of those who expressed neutrality or dissatisfaction to ensure continuous improvement and meet the evolving needs of the Filipino population.
