Civil rights group LGBT Pilipinas has commended President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for his historic decision to issue an executive order (EO) creating a special committee to advocate for the affairs and rights of the LGBTQIA community. President Marcos issued EO 51, which not only reinforces the country’s Diversity and Inclusion Program but also reconstitutes the Inter-Agency Committee on Diversity and Inclusion. Tan’s idea was gladly welcomed by First Lady Marie Louise ‘Liza’ Araneta-Marcos, which ultimately led to the issuance of the executive order.
