The First Quarter Tugon ng Masa Survey: Insights into the Political Landscape and Preferences of the Filipino Electorate

The First Quarter Tugon ng Masa survey conducted by Octa Research has shed light on the current political landscape in the Philippines and the preferences of the Filipino electorate. The survey, which had 1,200 respondents, was conducted from March 11 to 14, 2024, and has provided valuable insights into the upcoming 2025 elections.

Top Contenders in the Survey

Former broadcasters Erwin and Ben Tulfo, former President Rodrigo Duterte, former Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, and Senator Christopher “Bong” Go emerged as the top contenders in the survey. Erwin Tulfo, who is currently serving as the ACT-CIS party-list representative and House Deputy Majority Leader, led the survey with a voting preference of 58.4 percent. Senator Sotto closely followed with a voting preference of 51.7 percent.

Strong Performance of Notable Candidates

The survey also revealed the strong performance of other notable candidates. Re-electionist Senator Go, broadcaster Ben Tulfo, former President Rodrigo Duterte, and former Senator Panfilo Lacson garnered significant support from the respondents. Additionally, re-electionist and returning senators secured their spots in the so-called “magic 12.” The only potential newcomer in the 11th spot is former Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso.

Support for Other Political Figures

The survey also highlighted the double-digit voting preferences received by other political figures. Former Senators Gregorio Honasan and Richard Gordon, Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte, Davao City 1st District Representative Paolo Duterte, former Senators Francis Pangilinan and Franklin Drilon, entertainer Willie Revillame, Makati City Mayor Mar-Len Abigail Binay, Finance Secretary Ralph Recto, broadcaster and former Vice President Manuel “Noli” De Castro, Leyte 4th District Representative Richard Gomez, Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr., former Vice President Maria Leonor Robredo, former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, former Interior Secretary Manuel Roxas II, former Anakalusugan Representative Michael Defensor, and former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV all received notable support from the respondents.

Gratitude and Focus of Erwin Tulfo

Erwin Tulfo expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming support and trust given to him in the Octa survey. He humbly acknowledged the high level of confidence in his capacity to serve but emphasized that his focus remains on his role as the representative of the ACT-CIS party-list. Tulfo assured the public that he will continue to dedicate himself tirelessly to addressing critical issues and upholding the principles of good governance and public service.

Consistency with Pulse Asia Survey Results

It is worth noting that Tulfo’s strong performance in the Octa survey is consistent with the results of the Pulse Asia senatorial survey conducted from March 6 to 10, 2024. In this survey, 57.1 percent of respondents expressed their intention to vote for him in the upcoming 2025 elections.
