The state-run weather bureau has forecasted generally fair weather in most parts of Luzon, including Metro Manila, where thousands of devotees of the Black Nazarene are expected to join this year’s “Translacion” or procession in Quiapo, Manila. According to weather specialist Grace Castaneda of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), Metro Manila will experience temperatures ranging from 23 to 32 degrees Celsius.
Pagasa has reported that the northeast monsoon, locally known as “amihan,” is currently affecting the Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Central Luzon, and Cagayan Valley. These areas may experience partly cloudy to overcast skies with isolated light rains. On the other hand, the Bicol Region, Quezon, Aurora, Caraga, Davao Region, Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, and Camiguin are expected to have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the combined effects of the easterlies and shear line.
The rest of the country, including Luzon, will likely have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated downpours or thunderstorms caused by the easterlies and localized thunderstorms, according to the state weather bureau.
