In response to a directive from Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has initiated an investigation into the academic credentials of all government employees, both citizens and expatriates. The probe covers certificates obtained since 2000.

All government agencies and public institutions have been instructed to submit employee certificates for review. Kuwaiti institutions, including the Ministries of Education and Endowments, have already notified their staff.

First Phase

The initial phase will focus on certificates obtained outside Kuwait. If equivalencies are not provided, the Ministry of Higher Education will verify the validity of the documents. Certificates with existing equivalencies will also be examined.

Kuwait-issued certificates will be reviewed at a later stage, with the assistance of domestic higher education institutions.
