The 40th relief planeload to Gaza departed for AlArish Airport on Monday, carrying 40 tons of humanitarian aid and three ambulances. This mission was organized by the Al-Salam Association for Humanitarian and Charitable Works in partnership with the International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO). The Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Al-Salam Association and a member of the Board of Directors of the International Islamic Charity Organization, Dr. Nabil Al-Aoun, spoke to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) about the coordination efforts that expedited aid delivery to Gaza.
Dr. Al-Aoun emphasized that the 40th relief plane includes three fully equipped ambulances, 285 tents, and food supplies. In total, the aid provided by the Association to Gaza has reached an impressive weight of approximately 380 tons. Recognizing the deteriorating situation, he further revealed that the Association’s warehouses currently hold over 200 tons of relief aid to meet the urgent needs of the Palestinian people.
In light of the ongoing crisis, Dr. Al-Aoun called upon official authorities to operate additional flights to provide more aid to the Palestinians. The Al-Salam Association’s humanitarian campaign, which began on December 15 last year, aims to send 500 trucks to four different countries to support them during the winter season. Out of these, 58 truckloads have been allocated specifically for Gaza.
Dr. Walid Al-Awadi, the representative of the IICO, stressed the importance of cooperation and coordination with the Palestinian Red Crescent to meet the increasing demand for necessary materials. Additionally, he highlighted the need for facilitation from the Kuwaiti Ministries of Defense, Social Affairs, and Foreign Affairs in order to ensure the smooth delivery of aid.
The efforts of the Al-Salam Association and its partners are commendable, as they continue to provide critical assistance to the people of Gaza. The relief plane’s cargo of ambulances, tents, and food will undoubtedly make a significant difference in alleviating the suffering caused by the ongoing crisis.
It is important to note that the situation in Gaza is complex and requires ongoing support from the international community. The aid provided by organizations like the Al-Salam Association and the International Islamic Charity Organization plays a crucial role in addressing the immediate needs of the Palestinian people.
However, long-term solutions are necessary to address the root causes of the crisis and promote sustainable development in the region. Efforts should be made to engage with local authorities, international organizations, and other stakeholders to find lasting solutions that ensure the well-being and prosperity of the people of Gaza.
In conclusion, the 40th relief plane sent by the Al-Salam Association to Gaza represents a significant milestone in providing much-needed aid to the Palestinian people. The efforts of the Association, in collaboration with the International Islamic Charity Organization, demonstrate a commitment to alleviating the suffering caused by the ongoing crisis. While immediate relief is essential, it is equally important to work towards long-term solutions that address the underlying issues and promote stability in the region.
