From December 2 to December 8, the General Traffic Department in Kuwait organized a series of traffic campaigns that resulted in the detention of 61 motorists, including 42 juveniles. According to reports from Al-Anba daily, the juveniles were arrested for driving without licenses, while the remaining motorists were detained for committing serious violations.

The General Traffic Department, headed by Major General Yousef Al-Khadda, released statistics revealing that these traffic campaigns in the six governorates of Kuwait led to the issuance of 18,940 various traffic violations. Additionally, 29 wanted individuals were arrested, including 14 who were found to be staying in the country illegally after the expiry of their work permits.

During the campaigns, the authorities also seized 55 vehicles that were wanted by the judiciary. Furthermore, one person who was in an abnormal condition was apprehended.

All the detained vehicles have been towed to the Interior Ministry garage, while the arrested individuals have been handed over to the relevant authorities.

These traffic campaigns are part of the ongoing efforts by the General Traffic Department to ensure road safety and enforce traffic laws in Kuwait. By conducting regular campaigns, the department aims to deter motorists from engaging in dangerous driving behaviors and to prevent accidents.

Driving without a license is a serious offense in Kuwait, as it poses a risk to both the driver and other road users. Licensing requirements vary from country to country, and it is important for motorists to familiarize themselves with the local laws and regulations before getting behind the wheel. In Kuwait, individuals must obtain a valid driver’s license from the General Traffic Department before they are legally allowed to drive on public roads.

Additionally, the authorities in Kuwait are committed to cracking down on serious traffic violations to maintain order on the roads. These violations can include reckless driving, speeding, running red lights, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. By arresting individuals who commit such offenses, the authorities send a strong message that these actions will not be tolerated and that there will be consequences for those who put others at risk.

Furthermore, the efforts to apprehend wanted individuals and those staying in the country illegally demonstrate the commitment of the authorities to maintain law and order. By enforcing immigration laws and ensuring that individuals have the necessary permits to reside and work in Kuwait, the authorities aim to protect the interests of both the local population and foreign residents.

Overall, the recent traffic campaigns in Kuwait have not only resulted in the detention of motorists but have also served as a reminder of the importance of adhering to traffic laws. By raising awareness about the consequences of dangerous driving behaviors and enforcing regulations, the General Traffic Department plays a vital role in promoting road safety and maintaining order on Kuwait’s roads.
