Malabon City, under the leadership of Mayor Jeannie Sandoval, has achieved a significant milestone by receiving an “unmodified opinion” from the Commission on Audit (CoA) for its 2023 audit report. This accomplishment signifies that the city’s financial statements adhere to the established financial reporting framework.

City Administrator Alexander Rosete expressed his satisfaction with the achievement, emphasizing the city’s commitment to financial transparency and efficient utilization of public funds. He highlighted that this commitment will be evident in the implementation of various programs aimed at addressing the needs of Malabon residents.

Rosete further stated that the city government is dedicated to continuous improvement, particularly in enhancing programs that elevate the quality of life for its residents. The Malabon Ahon Blue Card and housing initiatives are prime examples of such programs that aim to make essential services more readily available to the community.

The CoA, in its report, acknowledged that the auditor responsible for conducting the annual audit issued the unmodified opinion based on the accurate and fair presentation of Malabon City’s financial statements. This positive assessment reflects the city’s dedication to financial accountability and transparency.

This accomplishment aligns with Mayor Sandoval’s recognition as the top-performing mayor in Metro Manila in May. The RP Mission and Development Foundation Inc. bestowed this honor upon her based on an impressive 88.7 percent performance rating in its “Boses ng Bayan” survey, conducted from March 18-24, 2024.
