MANILA, Philippines: In preparation for the upcoming Chinese New Year countdown and fireworks display on Friday, February 9, certain roads in Binondo, Manila will be temporarily closed. This announcement comes from the Manila police, who have provided details on the affected areas and the corresponding rerouting scheme.

Starting at 12:01 a.m., the Binondo-Intramuros Bridge will be closed to vehicular traffic. This closure is necessary to ensure the safety and smooth flow of the event. Additionally, Jones Bridge, both southbound and northbound, will be closed at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. respectively.

The affected roads include a stretch of Quintin Paredes from Padre Burgos Avenue to Dasmariñas Street, as well as Plaza Cervantes. These closures are essential to create a secure environment for the Chinese New Year countdown festivities.

From there, they should turn right to Noberto Ty Street, followed by a right turn to Yuchengco Street. Finally, they should turn left to Ongpin Street to reach their destination.

2. Vehicles traveling from Padre Burgos Avenue or Taft Avenue to Jones Bridge should proceed straight to McArthur Bridge or Quezon Bridge to reach their intended destination.

3. Vehicles passing through Dasmariñas Street from Plaza Sta. Cruz should make a right turn to Q. Paredes Street to reach their destination.

4. Vehicles coming from Magallanes Drive and heading towards Binondo-Intramuros Bridge should continue straight to A. Soriano Avenue, followed by Anda Circle, until they reach their destination.

5. Lastly, vehicles traveling from Muelle dela Industria and intending to go to Binondo-Intramuros Bridge should take Madrid Street, followed by a right turn to San Fernando Street. From there, they should proceed to Plaza San Ruiz and make a left turn to Quintin Paredes Street. Finally, they should make a right turn to Norberto Ty Street, followed by a right turn to Yuchengco Street. Ultimately, they should make a left turn to Ongpin Street to reach their destination.
