Employees in the city government of Manila, including those under contract of services and job orders, will be receiving a special service recognition incentive early next year. This announcement was made by Manila Mayor Maria Sheila “Honey” Lacuna-Pangan, who also took the lead in distributing rice bags to approximately 1,300 personnel of the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB) on Monday morning.

The program was initially proposed by Councilor Philip Lacuna during the 129th session of the Manila City Council on December 14. Mayor Lacuna-Pangan expressed her gratitude to City Treasurer Jasmin Talegon and Vice Mayor Yul Servo Nieto for their efforts in ensuring the swift passage of the ordinance that paved the way for the release of these benefits.

While the distribution of the special service recognition incentive may not happen this Christmas due to the time-consuming process, the necessary documents are already being processed. With the assistance of the local finance committee and the prudent management of the city’s funds, even those under job order positions will be eligible for this benefit,” Lacuna-Pangan stated.

According to Talegon, the program will cover approximately 9,000 regular employees, around 10,000 job orders, and individuals under contract of services. It aims to provide beneficiaries with productivity enhancement incentives, service recognition incentives, and gratuity payments.

This initiative demonstrates the city government’s commitment to recognizing the hard work and dedication of its employees. By extending these incentives, the government aims to boost employee morale and motivation, ultimately leading to improved productivity and service delivery to the residents of Manila.

It is worth noting that the provision of such benefits is in line with local laws and regulations. The city government of Manila follows a comprehensive approach to ensure that employees are duly compensated for their contributions. These initiatives not only comply with labor laws but also serve as a testament to the government’s commitment to fair and just employment practices.

Moreover, by extending these incentives to employees under contract of services and job orders, the city government acknowledges the valuable contributions of these individuals who play an essential role in the smooth functioning of various departments and services.

As the process for distributing the special service recognition incentive may take some time, the city government is taking the necessary steps to streamline the documentation and approval procedures. This ensures that the benefits are provided to eligible employees promptly and efficiently.

The program’s inclusion of productivity enhancement incentives, service recognition incentives, and gratuity payments further highlights the government’s holistic approach to employee welfare. These incentives not only acknowledge the employees’ commitment and dedication but also aim to enhance their productivity and job satisfaction.

In conclusion, the announcement of the special service recognition incentive for employees in the Manila city government demonstrates the government’s commitment to recognizing and rewarding the hard work and dedication of its workforce. By extending these benefits to a wide range of employees, including those under contract of services and job orders, the government is showcasing its inclusive and fair employment practices. This initiative not only complies with local laws and regulations but also serves as a testament to the government’s dedication to providing a conducive work environment and ensuring the welfare of its employees.
