MANILA, Philippines: According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the country is expected to have fair weather with isolated rain showers on Saturday.
The northeast monsoon, known as “amihan,” which typically affects Northern Luzon, has slightly weakened. Meanwhile, the easterlies are currently influencing the rest of the country.
“Cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms are likely in the areas of Cagayan, Babuyan Islands, Batanes, Aurora, and Quezon. However, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon can expect fair weather, except for slightly cloudy skies and isolated rain showers,” said weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio.
In Mindanao and Visayas, fair weather is also expected, with chances of thunderstorms that may bring sudden downpours in some areas.
A gale warning has been issued in the northern seaboard of Batanes, Babuyan Islands, and Ilocos Norte. Fishers with small sea crafts, including motor bancas of any type, are advised to take precautionary measures when sailing in these areas.
