The American University of the Middle East (AUM) proudly served as a major sponsor for the sixth edition of the Children’s Science Fair. This highly anticipated event, organized by the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, took place at the Capital Mall from November 16 to 18.

The exhibition commenced with an inspiring speech delivered by Dr. Manea Al-Sudairawi, the Director of the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research. Following the speech, a special tribute was paid to the event sponsors.

Dr. Al-Sudairawi, together with Tariq Al-Othman, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Human Soft Holding Company, officially inaugurated the exhibition. This marked the beginning of an exciting tour of the various exhibits.

As an annual event, the Children’s Science Fair aims to captivate and engage children aged 6 to 12 years old. This stage of development is critical in nurturing their scientific curiosity and fostering a passion for knowledge and discovery.

This year, the fair attracted over 2,000 enthusiastic participants, including students from different Kuwaiti schools. These young minds had the opportunity to explore 21 sets of simplified scientific experiments tailored to their abilities and age. The Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research provided 37 researchers and technicians to guide the children and offer scientific and technical insights.

It is worth highlighting that AUM hosts its own annual exhibition on campus, where students from the faculties of engineering and technology showcase their remarkable projects. This exhibition serves as a platform for students to demonstrate their knowledge, skills, and creativity acquired throughout their academic journey. Moreover, it aligns with the university’s vision of empowering young minds, imparting scientific knowledge, nurturing personal growth, and fostering technical expertise.

Within the University’s College of Engineering and Technology, six distinct clubs exist: the Robotics Club, the Artificial Minds Club, the Future Builders Club, the Green Energy Club, the Instrument Master Club, and the Inventors Club. These clubs provide students with opportunities to pursue their interests and engage in hands-on activities related to their respective fields.

The Children’s Science Fair and AUM’s sponsorship of this event demonstrate the university’s commitment to fostering scientific curiosity and promoting educational initiatives that inspire young minds. By investing in the development of future generations, AUM continues to play an instrumental role in shaping the scientific landscape and empowering students to reach their full potential.
