MANILA, Philippines: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has directed the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) to ensure the timely completion of the Airport to New Clark City Access Road (ANAR) in Pampanga. This project is expected to enhance connectivity across Luzon and boost tourism and investments in the province.

During his speech while inspecting the ANAR, President Marcos emphasized that the project is much more than just an access road. It aims to propel Clark as “an alternate growth area,” diversifying economic opportunities beyond Metro Manila.

Addressing the BCDA, President Marcos urged them to prioritize the completion of the remaining works for this 20-kilometer highway. The ANAR, spanning 19.81 kilometers with six lanes, connects the New Clark City (NCC) to the Clark International Airport (CIA).

The President highlighted the significant benefits that the completion of the ANAR will bring. Once fully operational, the travel time between the Clark International Airport and New Clark City will be reduced from one hour to just 20 minutes. Moreover, commuters will save money as the ANAR is toll-free.

The ANAR is a crucial component of BCDA’s One Clark development approach. This strategy aims to drive economic and social transformation in the country by developing alternative growth areas outside of the bustling Metro Manila.

President Marcos described the ANAR as a red carpet rolled out to those who wish to partake in all the best things that Clark has to offer. It symbolizes the path forward in “Building Better More” and ensures that the competitive advantage of Clark is never lost. Unlocking the full potential of Clark is an ongoing task, and the completion of the ANAR is a significant step in that direction.

The President’s directive to the BCDA underscores the government’s commitment to infrastructure development and regional growth. By improving connectivity and reducing travel time, the ANAR will not only benefit local residents but also attract more tourists and investors to Pampanga.

The completion of the ANAR aligns with the government’s vision to decentralize economic opportunities and promote balanced regional development. By developing alternative growth areas like Clark, the administration aims to create a more inclusive and resilient economy.

In conclusion, President Marcos Jr.’s directive to prioritize the completion of the Airport to New Clark City Access Road (ANAR) demonstrates the government’s commitment to enhancing connectivity, boosting tourism, and attracting investments in Pampanga. The ANAR is not just an access road; it represents a significant step towards diversifying economic opportunities beyond Metro Manila. With reduced travel time and toll-free access, the ANAR will serve as a catalyst for the development of Clark as an alternate growth area. This project is part of the government’s broader strategy to unlock the full potential of Clark and promote balanced regional development in the Philippines.
