The most recent data from the Central Statistics Bureau indicates that the population of Kuwait rose to 4.91 million by January 1, 2024 — a 119,700 increase from the 4.79 million recorded on the same day in 2023, as reported by Al-Anba daily. As per the statistics, the number of Kuwaiti citizens grew by 28,700, totaling 1.545 million at the start of January 2024, compared to 1.517 million in early 2023.
On January 1, 2024, the count of male citizens reached 758,700, up from 744,230 in January 2023. Similarly, female citizens numbered 787,000 at the beginning of January 2024, compared to 772,800 in January 2023. The population of expatriates also saw an increase, rising by 90,990 to reach 3.36 million by January 1, 2024, compared to 3.27 million on January 1, 2023. Among expatriates, male numbers rose to 2.26 million in January 2024 from 2.18 million in January 2023, while female expatriates increased to 1.1 million in January 2024, up from 1.08 million in January 2023.
