UPDATE: President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. announced on Thursday that his mother, former first lady Imelda Marcos, is on the road to recovery after being hospitalized earlier this week for slight pneumonia and fever. The President shared in a statement that he visited his mother as soon as he returned to Manila from the Asean-Australia Special Summit in Melbourne.
“My mother is feeling much better. I visited her last night after arriving from Melbourne and she was awake, alert, and even up at midnight,” he said.
According to Marcos, his mother’s medical team has confirmed that her fever is gradually subsiding and she is making progress in her recovery. However, due to her age and the nature of her illness, Mrs. Marcos, who will turn 95 years old in July, will be staying in the hospital to complete her prescribed course of antibiotic treatment.
“We’ve decided to keep her in the hospital until she finishes her prescribed course of antibiotic treatment. This measure will also afford her the necessary rest and continuous medical supervision,” the President explained.
Sen. Maria Imelda Josefa “Imee” Marcos, daughter of the former first lady, revealed that her mother was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday.
It is a relief to hear that Mrs. Marcos is on the mend. Pneumonia can be a serious illness, especially for older adults, and requires prompt medical attention. By seeking medical treatment and following the prescribed course of antibiotics, Mrs. Marcos is taking the necessary steps towards a full recovery.
It is heartening to see the President’s concern for his mother’s well-being. His prompt visit to the hospital after returning from an international summit demonstrates his commitment to family and his role as a caring son. This personal touch adds a human element to the news and helps us connect with the story on a deeper level.
As Mrs. Marcos continues her treatment, it is important for her to receive the necessary rest and continuous medical supervision. Staying in the hospital ensures that she has access to round-the-clock care and monitoring, which is crucial for her recovery.
Imelda Marcos is a prominent figure in Philippine history, known for her role as the first lady during the presidency of her husband, Ferdinand Marcos. Her hospitalization and subsequent recovery are of great interest to the public, as she is a revered figure in the country.
We wish Mrs. Marcos a speedy recovery and hope that she will soon be back on her feet. Her strength and resilience have been an inspiration to many, and we look forward to hearing more positive updates about her health in the coming days.
