LRT-1 Cavite Extension Set to Open in Q4

The eagerly anticipated LRT Line 1 Cavite Extension Phase 1 is on track to commence operations in the fourth quarter of 2024, according to Light Rail Manila Corp. (LRMC). As of January, the project was 97 percent complete, solidifying LRMC’s target opening timeline.

LRMC’s president and CEO, Juan Alfonso, expressed optimism about the progress achieved in the LRT-1 Cavite Extension Phase 1 project. He stated that this significant milestone is a testament to the perseverance and dedication of their team and contractors. The Redemptorist Station is at 93.3 percent completion, the MIA Station at 93.5 percent, the Asia World Station at 83 percent, the Ninoy Aquino Station at 88 percent, and the Dr. Santos Station at 94.1 percent.

Simultaneously, system works are also advancing efficiently. Telecom installation activities at the Dr. Santos and Redemptorist stations have been completed, and similar work has commenced at the MIA and Asia World stations. These installations are crucial for ensuring seamless communication and connectivity throughout the LRT Line 1 Cavite Extension Phase 1.
